How to prevent camel toeing in yoga pants – Let’s avoid embarassing looks

Camel toeing is a super common and frustrating issue that most women have to deal with from time to time. Sometimes the clothing we wear will gather in places we don’t want it to and bring attention to areas we’d rather they’d not. Although it is a very common problem, it is still embarrassing when it happens to you. You may want to hide it or even stop it from ever happening in the first place.

So, how to prevent camel toeing in yoga pants from happening in the first place? Is there any way you could hide it?

We have come up with a guide that includes 12 easy ways that you could prevent and fix camel toeing so that unwanted and often unflattering camel toe won’t bother you any longer! So, let’s get into it!

What is Camel Toeing?

Camel toeing is the term used to describe when the fabric of your pants rises up into the crotch area. It is a very common problem, especially when you wear a pair of yoga pants. This can however be prevented by following a few tips!

This mostly happens when wearing tight-fitting clothing such as sportswear, but can happen when wearing most other garments. Aside from not being the most attractive thing to look at, it can actually be very uncomfortable as well. So, how do we stop this from happening? Are there things we can do to help?

What Causes Camel Toeing?

As mentioned above, camel toeing is usually caused by wearing clothing that is too tight. Sometimes the fabric of the garment can cause it from happening too. Another reason that it happens is when the clothing is too small for the wearer, and so stretches and pulls in ways that are not flattering.

How To Prevent and Fix Camel Toeing

Camel toeing isn’t an issue you must fix, but if it causes you inconvenience or bothers then you can follow these tips to help prevent it from happening to you!

Wear The Correct Size of Yoga Pants

The very thing you can do to help prevent your yoga pants from giving you a camel toe is to ensure that you are wearing the correct size of pants. Every store has different sizing, so though you may be a 4 in one, you might not be in another. Because of this, you should always check the sizing chart of every company you want to purchase yoga pants from. Buying the correct size in pants will help them to fit more comfortably and will mean they are less likely to rise and gather in strange places. Additionally, if your yoga pants are too large the extra fabric may gather in the crotch area. If you need more information, on how to choose the right yoga pants, click here.

The Quality of the Fabric

The quality of the fabric that your yoga pants are made from is incredibly important, especially when it comes to preventing camel toeing. A strong and sturdy fabric will help the fabric to hold its shape, and not flex and gather in strange places.

Finding a pair of pants that are made from a thick fabric is going to help with prevention as well. Again, this is because the fabric is less likely to rise and gather in places such as the crotch area. Not only this but investing in a quality pair of yoga pants will help with the durability of the product as well as prevent the camel toe!

The Color of Your Yoga Pants

Although it may seem irrelevant, the color of your yoga pants can help prevent camel toeing. Or at least help to prevent it from being too noticeable!

Dark colors are well known to be flattering because they are much better at hiding any folds, lumps, and bumps that you might not want to be noticed! Celebrities and designers have been using this fashion hack for years!

Invest in a decent pair of dark-colored yoga pants, such as black or navy, and you won’t notice your camel toe as much, and neither will anyone else around you!

Choose The Right Style of Yoga Pants

There are many different styles of yoga pants on the market today, and some are more flattering than others. It is all about finding the right style of pants for you and your body shape. This may mean a little bit of trial and error, however, once you find a flattering pair you won’t ever have to worry about camel toeing again! This is because the style is more suited to the shape of your body and so again, is less likely to gather in places that it shouldn’t.

Choose Yoga Pants With Front Panels

Most yoga pants have a seam directly through the middle of the crotch area which means that camel toeing is much more likely. There are, however, yoga pants available with a front panel. This is where there is not a seam going through the middle but simply a panel of fabric. This fabric panel is much less likely to rise and form a camel toe.

Choose a Patterned Yoga Pant

Similar to how dark colors can help to hide unflattering gathers, patterns can help to do this too. Choosing a fun and vibrant patterned fabric will not only have you looking like the most fashionable person in the gym, but it will also help to distract from any camel toeing. The patterned fabric almost acts as a camouflage and will help to conceal the area.

Wear the Correct Underwear

Wearing the correct underwear with your yoga pants is super important. If you choose to wear small and tight-fitting underwear it may make it easier for the pants to rise and form a camel toe. To prevent this you should find underwear that fits comfortably and doesn’t rise.

There are many different shapes and styles of underwear, so choose one that fits you best and suits your body type.

Body Shaping Undergarments

Similar to how the right type of underwear can stop camel toeing, choosing to wear body-shaping garments can have a very similar effect. Body shaping underwear is usually made from a stretchy spandex material that is tight on your body to smooth out any lumps or bumps. This type of undergarment may also work well to help stop camel toeing while wearing yoga pants. This is because the overall shape will be much smoother, meaning that the pants would fit better and would not gather as much – especially where they should not be gathering.

Panty Liner Hack

Not only are panty liners great for those first few days before or after a period, but they are also very handy in preventing camel toes from happening. Simply place a panty liner inside your underwear as you normally would and wear your yoga pants on top. The thickness of the liner will prevent the fabric from the yoga pants from rising in between the vaginal area. This is a super quick and easy hack that is also relatively inexpensive. If you don’t want to invest in new yoga pants or underwear, then this is the best option for you to try out!

Pull Out Gathered Fabric

This is the most simple and obvious of answers, however, it is certainly the quickest fix of all! After all, all a camel’s toes are, is the excess fabric gathering and bunching at the crotch area. Simply pulling out the fabric and smoothing will make the camel toe disappear. This is however obviously not a long-term solution, and will only work at the present moment until the fabric rides up again. If you are looking for a more permanent solution then one of our other tips will probably help you better instead.

Camel Toe Pads

Camel toe pads are products designed specifically for preventing camel toeing. The product is placed into the pants, similar to how the panty liner hack works and stops the fabric from rising and bunching in the vaginal area. This is a great product for those of you who don’t wish to purchase new clothing and yoga pants and instead can purchase and use this nifty product. The product stands in the way of the fabric and the vaginal flaps and thus creates a wall that the fabric cannot penetrate to create a camel toe. And these pads also don’t create any panty lines while you are wearing your yoga pants.

Cover The Area

If all else fails there is one option that will never let you down! Simply cover up the area! Of course, this does nothing to prevent camel toeing itself, but it does however prevent it from being seen. Try wearing a long tank top or sweater that covers the crotch area. This way, any camel toeing that may occur won’t be visible to the public eye. This is a very quick fix and although it doesn’t actually ‘fix’ the problem, it does very well to hide it!
